                  Employment is not a minimum requirement for this category of nomination. However, evidence of employment or business operation will be taken into consideration.

                • Nomination Category 2: (If employment commenced after 29 January 2021) The applicant must have been working in Tasmania for six months immediately prior to the application in any fields for a minimum of 35 hours per week (20 hours per week when completing industry specific training for ANZSCO skill level 4 or 5 positions); The applicant does not need to be working in their nominated occupation. You and your dependents must currently be living in Tasmania; Your employer must have a well-established business that has been actively operating in Tasmania for the past 12 months.

    UNIT GROUP 2513 OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

      OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS develop, implement and evaluate policies and programs to monitor environmental health and occupational health and safety and related legislation to ensure safe and healthy working conditions, and assist injured staff through the workers' compensation and rehabilitation process.


      Indicative Skill Level:

      In Australia and New Zealand:

        Most occupations in this unit group have a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).

      Registration or licensing may be required.


      Tasks Include:

      • developing, implementing and reviewing environmental health management plans and occupational health and safety plans
      • preparing and implementing plans and strategies for the safe, economic and suitable disposal of commercial, industrial, medical and household wastes
